LB polls: ECP decides to allow candidates to transfer their vote

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said on Tuesday that it will release the schedule of local government elections in Sindh tomorrow (Wednesday).

In a statement, the ECP said that the Sindh government has fulfilled all legal requirements to conduct Local bodies elections in the province which are scheduled on January 18.

It further said that by-elections in Balochistan will be held on January 19.

Meanwhile, the ECP decided to allow candidates of local bodies elections to transfer their vote from one electoral area to another to fulfill the requirement of nomination papers.

The ECP asked all Regional and District Election Commissioners to entertain all such requests for correction or transfer of votes of prospective candidates on production of evidence in proof their being a candidate. Such request would be entertained till culmination of scrutiny process.
