Khurram Dastagir denies report of resignation as state minister for privatisation

ISLAMABAD: The Minister of State for Privatisation Khurram Dastagir Khan on Saturday denied media reports about his resignation from the office of state minister for privatization.

Khurram Dastagir said that he tendered resignation from the post of chairman privatization commission, and not from ministry.

The state minister said that reports about his differences with the prime minister are baseless and are the part of negative propaganda. He said that he is trying to perform his duties properly in commerce and textiles sector given by the prime minister.

Earlier, media reported that Khurram Dastagir had tendered his resignation as minister of state for privatisation because he had reservations over the formation of privatization board.

According to reports, Khurram Dastagir had also written a letter to the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for formation of board for privatization, however, he had not received any response.

The reports further said that Khurram Dastagir was likely to be appointed as federal trade minister.
