Japan to give Pakistan ¥5 billion concessional loan for energy sector

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Japan signed an agreement on Wednesday, under which the latter will provide a concessional loan of ¥5 billion to Pakistan for supporting its energy sector.

The Japanese ambassador to Pakistan Hiroshi Inomata and the additional secretary economic affairs division Yasmin Masood signed the agreement to this effect in Islamabad on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the Japanese ambassador said that his country recognizes that addressing power crisis is a matter of critical urgency in Pakistan.
