Islamabad: Imran Khan releases 2, 500 Paged “White Paper” against alleged rigging in May 11, 2013 elections.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, the PTI chief said that if the Election Commission of Pakistan failed to conduct free, fair and transparent by-elections, then the commission would itself be responsible for the consequences.
He was of the view that his party was not prepared for any alleged rigging during the May 11 general elections as the election process was conducted under an independent judiciary and the Election Commission of Pakistan. He indicated that 400 petitions were filed in the election tribunals over rigging in the general elections, adding that out of aforementioned petitions 64 were filed by his party.
“We are not the only party which said that rigging took place during the elections.”, said Imran.
He termed the role of some Returning Offices (RO) during the general elections as shameful, stating that one RO had admitted to corruption during the polling process.
