ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday demanded an audit of entire general elections held in May last year, saying that the time for evaluating four constituencies is now over.

In a press conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, the PTI chief said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) delayed the vote recount request for four constituencies for too long.

Imran alleged that CCTV cameras were forcefully closed so that rigging could take place during the general elections.

The PTI chief speculated that preparations are being made to sabotage PTI’s August 14 long march. He said that his party’s long march on the Independence Day will be peaceful, adding that all of the PTI’s rallies were peaceful in the past.

Zardari supports Imran’s demand for recounting of votes in 4 constituencies

Meanwhile, the former president Asif Ali Zardari announced his support for the PTI’s chief Imran Khan’s demand for recounting of votes in four constituencies, terming it as justified.

In a statement, the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should not have any fears regarding a recount if there was no rigging during elections last year.

The former president said that people had elected Nawaz Sharif as the prime minister of the country and not as an absolute monarch.

Zardari also criticized Nawaz’s interference in other provinces and said that the center should not interfere in matters of provinces.
