ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The French ambassador Philippe Theibaud has said that France wants to expand its trade relations with Pakistan.

In a meeting with the federal finance minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, the French ambassador said that there is an increased interest by the French companies to invest in Pakistan.

The envoy said that the government of Pakistan’s reform agenda with regard to economy is impressive and the results show that considerable progress has been made in this direction.

The finance minister said that Pakistan believes in trade and opening of new vistas to expand trade and economic relations with neighbors and beyond.

Dar said that Pakistan provided a good opportunity to international investors particularly in hydro carbon exploration, energy and infrastructure development.

The minister assured the French ambassador that level playing field will be provided to foreign investors.
