ISLAMABAD: The death toll in flood and rain-related incidents has risen to 183 besides injuries to 887 persons in the country, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Tuesday.

According to the NDMA, 5267 villages have been affected by the floods‚ most of them in Punjab and Sindh. Standing crops over an area of about 1.2 million acres of land have been affected.

Over 22, 200 houses have been fully damaged while another 31, 450 have partially been damaged by floods.

The authority said that 5, 40 relief camps have been established in the affected areas providing shelter to over 41, 000 people.

About 58, 000 tents‚ 16, 800 blankets and over 120, 000 food packs have also been distributed among affected people.
