By-elections in PS-35 Larkana-I, PK-86 Swat-VII underway

KARACHI: The polling is in progress for the by-elections of Sindh Assembly constituency PS-35 (Larkana-I) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly constituency PK-86 (Swat-VII).

The polling will continue till 5 pm without any interval.

PS-35 Larkana-I

In PS-35 Larkana-I, the total registered voters are 118,816 out of which 56458 are female voters.

The seat fell vacant after the late Haji Altaf Hussain of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was disqualified under a ruling passed by the Sukkur election tribunal on Feb 26, 2014.

PK-86 Swat-VII

In PK-86 Swat-VII, there are 134,614 registered voters in the constituency where 85 polling stations have been set up. Out of them, 36 are ‘sensitive’ and 42 ‘most sensitive.’

A tough contest is expected between the candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the by-elections for the constituency.
