ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday began printing nomination papers for the upcoming Local bodies elections in Sindh and Punjab.

The ECP said more than 800,000 nomination papers for Sindh while more than 5 million nomination papers would be printed for Punjab.

The nomination papers for Sindh and Punjab were also issued on the ECP’s website.

On Wednesday, the ECP announced the poll schedule for Sindh and Punjab provinces. According to which, local bodies elections in Sindh would be held on November 27, while in Punjab local bodies elections would take place on December 7.

The nomination papers would be received on Nov 11 and 12. Objections against nomination papers could be filed on Nov 13 while scrutiny would take place from Nov 16 to 18.

The appeals against objections to nomination papers would be filed on Nov 19 and 20 and these would be disposed of by Nov 23. The date for withdrawing nomination papers would be Nov 24 and the final list of candidates would be notified on Nov 25.
