ECC approves Rs 2 billion Ramazan relief package

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet was held in Islamabad on Friday with finance minister Ishaq Dar in the chair, during which it approved Rs 2 billion Ramazan relief package on essential commodities being sold at Utility Stores.

A subsidy of Rs 6 per kilogram will be given on wheat flour, Rs 10 per kg on ghee and oil; Rs 10 per kg each on Dal channa, Moong, Mash, Masoor, Gram, Baisen, Dates, Sella, Broken Rice and Squashes and Syrups.

Likewise, Rs 50 per kg concession will be given on black tea, Rs 10 per litre on Milk (Tetra Pack) and prices of spices will be reduced by 10 percent.

The package will be effective from June 23.
