ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Defense Committee of the Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is currently in progress in Islamabad to review matters relating to security situation, especially the fresh tension with India on the Line of Control (LoC).
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shamim Wayne‚ Services Chiefs, heads of intelligence agencies, ministers for Interior, Information and Finance, PM’s advisor on foreign affairs and national security, Secretary Defence and members of the committee nominated by the prime minister are present in the meeting.
The bigwigs are discussing LoC situation, national security policy, the war on terrorism, post-US withdrawal scenario in Afghanistan besides reviewing overall security situation in the country.
