LAHORE, Pakistan: China will establish a modern theme park and state-of-the-art aquarium in Lahore, and assured that the project would be completed by the beginning of 2017.

Meanwhile, an agreement was signed in this regard between the Punjab government and the Chinese Company “Golden Ben Group” in Lahore on Friday. The Punjab Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and the Chairman of the Company Jin Ming Nan signed the agreement.

Separately, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed between the two sides for building “Workers Welfare Complex” at Sundar in Lahore.

Earlier, in a meeting with the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore, a delegation of Chinese investors discussed the proposed project of setting up a modern theme park and aquarium in Lahore.

The Chinese investors told the Chief Minister said that they are ready to make investment in the modern theme park and state-of-the-art aquarium in Lahore and this project will be unique with regard to provision of recreational facilities of international standard to the citizens. They assured the chief minister that the project would be completed by the beginning of 2017.

The delegation also showed a documentary of a modern aquarium set up by the investors in China.

On the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the interest shown by the Chinese investors and their willingness to invest in the proposed project. He said that the proposed project of theme park and state-of-the-art aquarium in Lahore is of vital importance for the provision of unique and international standard recreational facilities to the masses.

The Chief Minister said that necessary issues regarding the project would be settled expeditiously so that the project could be given a final shape. He that the Punjab government would provide all-out facilities to the Chinese investors so that the project could be completed at the earliest.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the project of modern theme park and aquarium in Lahore would result in new and unique recreational facilities to the citizens, adding the project would be the first of its kind in Pakistan and Chinese investors will make investment in the project.

Moreover, he said that the matters relating to the project of provision of modern recreational facilities to the masses should be decided as early as possible.

The Chief Minister issued instructions for setting up a committee to deal with the issues regarding the project and said that the proposed committee should consider all aspects of the project for making further progress.

The Chairman Punjab Investment Board, Secretary Forests, Commissioner Lahore Division, Director General LDA, Director General PHA and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
