QUETTA: The Awami National Party (ANP) would observe shutter down strike and stage protests across the Balochistan province tomorrow (Thursday) against the kidnapping of its former provincial chief Nawab Arbab Abdul Zahir Kasi.

This was announced by the ANP General Secretary Abdul Rashid Nasir and Chairman of Organizing Committee Jabar Kakar at a press conference in Quetta on Wednesday.

The ANP leaders demanded that the government launch a targeted operation in the city like that of Karachi. They said there was no let-up in incidents of kidnapping for ransom in Quetta.

They alleged that security agencies are well aware of elements which are involved in kidnappings. They also warned that it would resort to agitation if Arbab Abdul Zahir was not freed.

Earlier, unknown gunmen kidnapped the ANP leader Arbab Abdul Zahir Kasi after they intercepted his vehicle on Patel road on the outskirts of Balochistan’s Quetta city.
