NationalRains may cause flash floods in KPK: PDMA

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued alert about heavy rains and thunderstorm from Monday that can cause flash floods at different places of the province.

The district administrations throughout the province has directed to be vigilant and take precautionary measures to avert human and material losses.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has chalked out a contingency plan to deal with any emergency in the current monsoon season.

PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has established Emergency Operation Centres at district level throughout the province to meet any untoward situation.

Necessary funds and food items sufficient for one month have been provided to each district.

Over 100 boats have also been arranged to evacuate people in case of any flood situation.
