Radio Pakistan Lahore Organizes “Mehfil-e-Mushaira”

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Radio Pakistan Lahore organized an exclusive “Mehfil-e-Mushaira” on Tuesday in connection with the Spring Celebrations.

The event was held at the Noor Jehan Auditorium, Broadcasting House in Lahore wherein a large number of people had thronged to listen to eminent poets from across the Country who welcomed the Spring in their own style.

The “Mehfil-e-Mushaira” was presided over by the well renowned poet Amjad Islam Amjad.

The Radio Pakistan since its launch has been playing a vital role in promotion of nationalism, art and culture and poetry etc. It has an abundant history of organizing special programs and conducting interviews to highlight various social issues and their importance, as well as, to promote patriotism and Pakistan’s soft image.

Recently, Radio Pakistan telecast a special feature “Hum aur Hamari Sehat” (We and our Health) in connection with World Health Day on April 7, and also arranged a religious talk on April 5 to highlight importance of “Shab-e-Mairaj”.

Meanwhile talking to the Controllers of Radio Pakistan’s Central News Organization in Islamabad on Monday, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that the government plans to make Radio Pakistan a vibrant media organization.

Fawad Chaudhry appreciated the role of Radio Pakistan and said that efforts would be made to further strengthen the organization. He said that special steps would be taken for capacity building of Radio Pakistan employees and providing them with state of the art equipment.
