NEW YORK: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi attended the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-Pakistan Ministerial-level meeting on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Oman and Kuwait along with Permanent Representatives of other GCC Countries.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi highlighted the latest human rights and humanitarian situation prevailing in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJ&K).

The foreign minister said that Indian forces continued to operate with impunity in the occupied territory, with the civilians bearing the brunt of the debilitating impact of the lockdown that had reached its 52 day.

Qureshi expressed the hope that regional and international organizations would play their role towards addressing the grave threat to peace and security in South Asia as a result of the illegal and unilateral actions by India.

The Joint Ministerial meeting also reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations between the GCC and Pakistan.

The meeting agreed to explore further avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and economic ties between the two sides as well as to strengthen institutional linkages.
