QUETTA: A shutter down strike is being observed in various towns of restive Balochistan province as pall of gloom enveloped the Quetta city where at least 30 people were killed and dozens injured in a suicide blast at Hazara Town.

Officials said the death toll has mounted to 30, with over 60 people injured in the suicide blast which ripped through an imambargah located in largely Shiite Muslim neighborhood.

Sources said FIR of the incident has been registered in a local police station. The dead would be buried today.

The strike is being observed on a call given by Hazar Democratic Party, with a three-day mourning announced by Shia organizations.

The Home Secretary of Balochistan says the suicide bomber has been identified as Uzbek national.

He said the attacker intended to go inside Imam Bargah but he blew himself outside, when the volunteers stopped him.

The CCPO, Mir Zubair, has denied two blasts and said that only one blast has been confirmed so far in initial probe.
