ISLAMABAD: The federal government and the opposition have reached consensus to pick former federal interior secretary Qamar Zaman Chauhdry as new Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah said.

Talking to media representatives in Sukkur on Tuesday evening‚ Shah said he had made five constructive meetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for the appointment of the Chairman NAB.

The opposition said he had also spoken to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar about the appointment.
