In between, Pakistan had to wrestle with Sri Lanka at Bristol on June 7 but rain caused the match’s abandonment, resulting of sharing one point each between the two sides.
In recent past, Australia have remained overpowered against Pakistan. The Aussies have defeated Pakistan in last eight One Day Internationals (ODIs) successively, which also includes a whitewash in the five-match ODIs series in UAE in March 2019.
Whereas since September 2012, the two teams met 15 times in the 50-over format, in which green shirts bagged victory just once.
However irrespective of the above fact, according to cricketing experts, Pakistan being in momentum are favourite against Australia, especially after the former conquered England at Nottingham.

Also as per the cricketing experts, Australia will be more under pressure after a 36-run defeat at the hands of India at The Oval on June 9.
For today’s encounter, Pakistan may go unchanged, meaning Shoaib Malik will still be featuring in the match in place for Imad Wasim.
But, on the other said, Australian Marcus Stoinis has suffered a side strain, and he won’t be seen in action.
So far three matches of the ICC World Cup 2019 have badly been affected by rain. Even the weather forecast for today’s match at Taunton is not pleasing. If the match goes on as per the schedule and Pakistan manage to beat Australia, they may jump to the second spot in the Points Table.
Currently, Pakistan are at eighth position with three points whereas Australia are at number four with four points.
