The Defending Champions Australia will play against Ireland at The Gabba in Brisbane on Monday in Group 1 Match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

Currently, Ireland are ahead of Australia in the Points Table. Both teams have three points each; however, in terms of Net Run Rate (NRR), Ireland are placed above.

In Super 12 Round, Australia have so far faced New Zealand, Sri Lanka and England.

The Host lost to New Zealand by 89 runs, won against Sri Lanka by seven wickets while their match against England was washed out.

On the other hand, Ireland lost to Sri Lanka by nine wickets, won against England by five runs under D/L method, and their match against Afghanistan was abandoned without a ball bowled because of rain.

Head to Head in T20I: Australia 1, Ireland 0

Both Australia and Ireland previously met just once in a T20 International, and that was at Colombo on September 19, 2012 in ICC World Twenty20. Aussie won that match by seven wickets.

Earlier on Sunday, Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by three runs, Pakistan sealed victory against Netherlands by six wickets, and India lost to South Africa by five wickets.

In Points Table of Group 1, New Zealand with five points are atop followed by England, Ireland and Australia with three points each at second, third and fourth positions respectively.

Sri Lanka are at fifth spot with two points while Afghanistan are at the bottom having two points as well.

Whereas in Group 2, South Africa are leading the Points Table with five points. India and Bangladesh are at second and third positions with four points each. Zimbabwe are at fourth with three points and Pakistan at fifth position with two points. Netherlands have no points and are placed at sixth spot.
