This is the two-match Test bilateral series, and the first match ended in draw at Dubai. Pakistan had tightened its grip in the first Test; however, responsible batting display by Australian Usman Khawaja and Tim Paine in the second innings deprived Pakistan of sealing a Test victory in UAE after two years.
Last time in October 2016, Pakistan won a Test match in United Arab Emirates (UAE) against West Indies at Abu Dhabi. Since then, Pakistan has played four Tests in UAE including the last match against Australia at Dubai from October 7-11, 2018 which ended without yielding any result.
In the previous three Tests, Pakistan lost two matches to Sri Lanka and one to West Indies.
