ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has urged the Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani to tender his resignation after he was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Earlier in the day, the NAB Karachi arrested Agha Siraj Durrani from a hotel in Islamabad as part of an inquiry for accumulating assets beyond his known sources of income.
Later the Accountability Court Judge in Islamabad Muhammad Bashir granted the NAB a three-day transit remand of Agha Siraj Durrani, and ordered to produce him in the relevant Court in Karachi within three days.

In a statement on Wednesday, the PTI Central Secretary Information Omer Sarfaraz Cheema demanded the resignation from Agha Siraj Durrani, and also termed Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) response over his arrest as unjustified.
“National Accountability Bureau is an independent institution and the process of impartial accountability is moving forward,” Omer Sarfaraz Cheema said adding that it is the need of the hour to hold those elements accountable who plundered this nation.
Slamming PPP, the PTI Central Secretary Information said that it must stop backing corrupt elements and refrain from intimidating state institutions.
