PoliticsPTI has dual standards regarding accountability: Fazl

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has dual standards regarding the accountability.

Talking to state-run television on Saturday, the JUI-F Chief said that some elements want the accountability of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif only which is injustice. He said that all the people should be accountable without any discrimination.

The JUI-F Chief said that PTI’s politics of sit-ins has weakened the democracy in the country.

Maulana Fazl further said that the opposition has the right to hold peaceful protest on the issue but it should not manipulate the situation for point-scoring.

The JUI-F Chief said that his party firmly believes in ideological politics rather than levelling allegations against others.

While welcoming the formation of the Parliamentary Committee regarding Terms of Reference (ToRs) on Panama issue, Maulana Fazlur Rehman urged the Committee to formulate ToRs within parameters of the Constitution.

Maulana Fazl said that the prime minister presented himself for accountability though his name has not been mentioned in Panama Papers.
