NOWSHERA, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s prudent economic policies have started yielding positive results, and the four percent GDP growth has surprised everyone.

In his address at the Commercial Launch of the Rashakai Prioritized Special Economic Zone in Nowshera on Friday, the prime minister said that the government had to pass through a difficult time for one and a half years; however, now the difficult time is over.

The prime minister said that the government is taking steps to ensure the economic stability sustainable. He added that the government is taking all-out steps to incentivize investors for the promotion of industrialization and exports in the Country.

Imran Khan said that hurdles are being removed to facilitate the local and foreign investors to invest in Pakistan. He emphasized on establishing export-based industry in the Country for wealth creation, adding that the future of Pakistan lies in industrialization.

Talking about the Rashakai Special Economic Zone being established under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the prime minister said that Pakistan has great potential and it can learn a lot from the fast industrial growth of China.

The prime minister directed the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to give land at the zone on lease instead of selling it to avoid real estate speculations. He also advised for ensuring one window operation to facilitate the investors.

The Rashakai Special Economic Zone spreads over about 1,000 acres of land which is linked with the CPEC route on M-I Motorway and other districts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province that makes the project strategically significant.

It’s a part of the CPEC cluster and will prove to be a milestone in respect of making huge investments and creating employment opportunities at a large scale in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It is a flagship project of the KPK government and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC).

The construction work on the Rashakai Special Economic Zone is being carried out with the collaboration of China’s State Enterprise China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and the KPEZDMC.

Different industries including pharmaceutical, textile, food and beverages, and steel and engineering will be established at the Rashakai Priority Special Economic Zone.

The project will provide employment opportunities to about 200,000 people of the area directly and indirectly.
