PTI announces boycott of Geo and Jang group

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced on Friday that he and his party will boycott Geo and Jang because the group was involved in rigging during the general election held last year, adding that the boycott will continue until the group apologizes.

   

In his address to a press conference in Islamabad on Friday, the PTI chairman said that his party will give out a document exposing foreign funding given to media groups based in the country.

Imran also demanded that Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jillani initiate proceedings against those behind what he called rigging in the May 2013 elections.

The PTI chairman also brought out figures for the election held on NA-118 where he said rigging was done on massive proportions.

Moreover, he said that said free and fair elections are imperative for democracy, adding that without transparent polls in place, it will not be possible to ensure representative government.
