ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) would establish ‘Aiwan-e-Sayyahat’ (PTDC Headquarters) in the Federal Capital, Islamabad.

In a statement, Managing Director PTDC Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said that work has been started on the development of tourism sector by the government and its results will come soon.

Managing Director PTDC informed that he conducted a meeting with Punjab’s Minister for Labor and Human Resources Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and discussed joint venture tourism projects. UK-based Pakistani investor Javed Mujahid was also present in the meeting.

He said that PTDC willing to establish tourism centers on available land with support of provinces, private companies and investors.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar said that tourism sites in Pakistan are not less than any other country in beauty and individualism. Only accurate promotion and promotion can bring fruitful results. PTDC should promote country’s natural resources and tourism treasures over the media across the world, so that tourists will grow in the country. He assured that the recommendations of PTC will not only be presented at provincial but federal level so that all possible support can be provided.

Managing Director PTDC said that there are many opportunities, but tourism sector needs investment to provide world-class facilities to tourists.  He said that PTDC has appointed Javed Majeed as Honorary Coordinator of Pakistan Tourism in London, UK.
