Prices of various items to be cut by 5-10 percent before Ramazan

ISLAMABAD: The prices of various items will be brought down by 5 to 10 percent at the Utility Stores before the arrival of holy month of Ramadan, the Managing Director of the Utility Stores Corporation Khaqan Murtaza said in an interview.

Murtaza explained that this reduction in prices would be over and above the relief that is to be passed on to the consumers under the special Ramazan package announced by the government.

The federal cabinet in one of its Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) meeting held in Islamabad on May 16 approved Rs2 billion Ramazan relief package on essential commodities being sold at the Utility Stores.
