Pakistani mangoes will enter the market of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in May 2023, and as per expectations, their price will be cheaper as compared to the last year.
As mango exports are a good earner of foreign exchange for Pakistan, the UAE remains to be among the major export destinations of Pakistani mangoes.
Pakistan exports a variety of mangoes to the UAE including Chaunsa, Langra, Sindhri, Anwar Ratool, Dusehri, Saroli, Almas, and Fajri among others.
The Pakistani exports of fruits will begin from May 20, 2023 to the UAE and other Countries worldwide.
The Managing Director of Altaf Hussain Trading Co. Mustafa Altaf said that this year crop has been very good across Pakistan; therefore, supply will also be strong and prices more economical.
Mustafa Altaf said that the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee will also be one of the factors behind the mangoes prices being cheaper in the UAE.
In the last one year, the value of Pakistani Rupee (PKR) has fallen against the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED) from Rs 50.6 in May 2022 to Rs 78.3 in May 2023.
In the second quarter of the Fiscal Year 2022-23 from October to December, the UAE were among the top 10 exporting partners of Pakistan along with the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Afghanistan Italy, and Bangladesh.
During the said period, Pakistan’s export to the UAE showed a positive growth by 19.5%.
In the last Fiscal Year 2021-22, Pakistan’s fruit exports worldwide stood at US$ 477 million.
