ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari received a farewell guard of honour at the completion of his constitutional term in the President House on Sunday.

A guard of honour would be presented to the outgoing head of the state at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Sunday.

Speaking at a dinner for the staff of Aiwan-e-Sadr last night‚ the President said he is glad to leave his office with dignity and honour on completion of his term.

Asif Ali Zardari said that he always took decisions in the interests of the country.

He said that he devolved powers to the Parliament voluntarily.

President-elect Mamnoon Hussain is expected to take oath as 12th President of the country on Monday.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain rang up President Asif Ali Zardari and felicitated him on completing his constitutional tenure of five years as the President.

The President thanked Altaf Hussain for his sentiments.
