ISLAMABAD: In recognition of late Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah’s meritorious contributions in the field of medicine, President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday, on the advice of the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, approved conferment of ‘Hilal-i-Imtiaz’ upon him, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah, former Sports Minister Sind, was recommended by Governor Sind Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan for conferment of Hilal-i-Imtiaz keeping in view his great services for the people.

Late Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah would always be remembered for his services rendered in the field of medicine, social welfare and sports. Despite suffering from cancer himself, he remained active in the service of the people.

Dr. Shah established a hospital where he used to provide quality treatment to the patients, especially the poor, and never publicized his selfless services for the humanity.

The renowned surgeon and orthopaedic expert of Pakistan passed away during his cancer treatment in Houston, United States on 4th February 2013.
