PESHAWAR: Following the killing of Hakimullah Mehsud, the chief of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the outlawed militant group is likely to announce their new chief in one or two days, sources said.

The sources said that the group’s Markazi Majlis e Shura would appoint their new chief while names of Umar Khalid (TTP chief in Mohmand Agency), Maulana Fazlullah (chief in Malakand) and Khan Said Sajna alias  (chief in South Waziristan) are under consideration.


Meanwhile, the federal government has stopped the delegation from visiting North Waziristan to hold peace talks with the Taliban following the reports of TTP chief’s death.
