GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH, Pakistan: The Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday ruled out any reconciliation with the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and even said the latter was not a political leader.

“We will not reconcile with Nawaz Sharif,” Asif Ali Zardari said while addressing a public gathering held in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to mark the 39th death anniversary of Founder Chairman of PPP and former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Zardari asked Nawaz Sharif to leave politics, and said the people would take accountability from Nawaz Sharif in next general elections. He said Nawaz Sharif rigged elections 2013 through Returning Officers (ROs).

In his address, the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Pakistan was a gift from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who, he added, gave them slogan of democracy. He said PPP was the party of the people.

Bilawal Bhutto said successful foreign policy was also a gift of PPP.

The Chairman PPP said the passion for Bhutto’s legacy could not be diminished. He said that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave unanimously agreed Constitution to the Country as well as he launched the nuclear programme.

The Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, the PPP Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Central leaders of the PPP also addressed the public gathering at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.

A documentary, depicting life and achievements of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was also shown on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the 39th death anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was observed today. Quran Khawani was held at various places across the Country for the departed soul of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
