LAHORE, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab Parvez Elahi on Monday sent three names to the Governor Balighur Rehman for the appointment of the Caretaker Chief Minister.
The names include Sardar Ahmad Nawaz Sukhera, Nasir Mahmood Khosa, and Muhammad Naseer Khan.
The names were finalized after a meeting between Parvez Elahi and the Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday.
In a Twitter statement, the incumbent Chief Minister said that if the opposition thinks with an open heart, they seem to be agreeing on one of the proposed names.
عمران خان سے مشاورت کے بعد نگران وزیر اعلی کے لئے تین نام احمد نواز سکھیرا، نصیر احمد خان اور ناصر محمود کھوسہ پر اتفاق کیا گیا ہے۔ ہم یہ تینوں نام نگران وزیر اعلی کیلئے گورنر کو بھجوا رہے ہیں۔ اپوزیشن کھلے دل سے سوچے تو ان میں سے ایک نام پر اتفاق ہوتا ہوا نظر آرہا ہے۔

The Punjab Assembly automatically stood dissolved on January 14, 2023 as the Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman excused himself from the process, saying that he could not become a part of the move.
I have decided not to become part of the process leading to the dissolution of Punjab Assembly. I would rather let the Constitution and law take its own course. Doing so will not hamper any legal process as Constitution clearly provides a way forward.

Meanwhile, according to media reports, the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Parvez Elahi along with his companions have decided to join PTI.
Reports said that they will make the official announcement in this regard later in the evening.
