PoliticsShahbaz Sharif slams PTI government over arrest of Rana Sanaullah

LAHORE, Pakistan: The President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif has lambasted the government over the arrest of Rana Sanaullah, saying that to arrest someone without any charges is the worst example of political victimization.

In a statement, Shahbaz Sharif said that allegations against Rana Sanaullah should be made public by producing him before the Court.

Earlier in the day, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Lahore arrested the PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah for allegedly possessing a huge quantity of narcotics in his vehicle when he was traveling from Faisalabad to Lahore.

As per the ANF Spokesperson, the PML-N leader was arrested by the Regional Directorate Punjab from motorway. The ANF Spokesperson said that details about his arrest will be issued soon.

Sources said that Rana Sanaullah was arrested from the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near the Sukheki area.

Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz also replaced her twitter profile picture with Rana Sanaullah’s photo, and wrote there that “What has ANS got to do with Rana Sanaullah? It could not get more absurd. He has been arrested for his bold & courageous stance. Jaali-e-Azam being the small & petty minded man that he is, is directly behind his arrest. Make no mistake.”
