RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shahbaz Sharif has said that a Parliamentary Commission should be formed to probe Results Transmission System (RTS) failure in elections 2018.
Talking to media in Rawalpindi after he held talks with the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Adiala Jail, Shahbaz Sharif said that as it was decided in an All-Party Conference (APC) that a Parliamentary Commission needs to be formed to investigate that how RTS ceased to function after the polling results began arriving.
Shahbaz Sharif said that it also needs to be probed that why polling agents were forced to leave the polling stations, and how the votes counting process went underway in their absence.
“The nation has the right to be apprised about all these,” he said.
Talking about the opposition’s protest held outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in Islamabad on Wednesday, the PML-N president said that all parties rejected the election results.
Shahbaz Sharif said that protest is a democratic right of all political parties. He said that opposition parties have organized a peaceful protest.
In reply to a question, he said that i could not participate in the protest because of bad weather.
