LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday demanded action against anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood for spreading fake and baseless news regarding bank accounts of accused Imran Ali in the Kasur incident.
Talking to a Private News Channel, he said the State Bank of Pakistan had verified that there was no account of accused Imran Ali.
Rana Sanaullah said Dr Shahid Masood should have presented evidences regarding the news before the Supreme Court if he had any.
The minister said everything would be cleared in the Supreme Court regarding the news, adding Shahid Masood should have disclosed his source for releasing the fake news.
The Punjab Law Minister said the objective of releasing baseless news from the anchorperson was to discredit the Punjab government and defaming the popularity of Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) among masses of the Country.
The Supreme Court would resume hearing of Zainab Murder Case at its Lahore Registry on Sunday. The Court would hear the case with particular reference to some specific details revealed by anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood in his TV Show on NewsOne TV Channel
Earlier, the day, the three-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by the Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar issued notices to specific media persons to appear at Lahore Registry tomorrow with particular reference to proceedings in Zainab Murder Case.
