Qadri terms ECP members’ appointment unconstitutional

LAHORE: Chief of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that formation of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and discretionary funds of parliamentarians were not in compliance with the constitution, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Thursday.

Talking to media, Qadri said ECP members should be sacked since their appointment was unconstitutional, adding that discretionary funds of prime minister, chief ministers and parliamentarians were also unconstitutional, therefore, they should be frozen.

TMQ chief said that he decided to move the Supreme Court over both the issues. The issue of formation of Election Commission was important than its dissolution, he added.
