PoliticsPunjab police have become a State, says JI Chief over Kasur incident

SAILKOT/LAHORE/KASUR, Pakistan: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Siraj-ul-Haq on Friday said Kasur incident proved that law of jungle was prevailing in the Country.

Talking to media in Sialkot, Siraj-ul-Haq said elite and dolphin forces were just for the security of rulers. He said Punjab police had become a State.

Separately, the former Prime Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said while talking to media in Lahore that Kasur incident was a blood-curdling, and it was very condemnable.

The PPP leader said law and order situation in Punjab were deteriorating while lives of innocent children weren’t safe in the province.

Pervaiz Ashraf said they could only express sorrow over the irresponsible statements of the Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah. He said the provincial government should have been ashamed over the incident rather than giving statements.

Meanwhile, normalcy seemed to return to Kasur after several days of protest following the discovery of seven-year-old Zainab’s brutal rape and murder.

As per reports, markets opened after being shut for at least two days as traders announced an end to their strike while traffic began plying on roads that had been blocked by enraged residents protesting the gruesome incident.

While in a statement, the Punjab government spokesperson said first clue of the culprit in Zainab Case was obtained. He said there was a person who had continuously been abducting the girls and killing them.

The spokesperson said the government was responsible for providing secure environment to the children.
