PoliticsPTI’s alliance with JUI-S will yield serious consequences: Aitzaz Ahsan

LAHORE/SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) senior leader Senator Aitzaz Ahsan on Monday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) alliance with Chief of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Sami (JUI-S) Maulana Samilul Haq would yield serious consequences.

Talking to media in Lahore, Senator Aitzaz Ahsan however said PPP’s alliance with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was not political.

PTI entered into an electoral alliance with JUI-S in November 2017 as part of a strategy to deal a blow to newly revived Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) in 2018 general elections.

Separately, PPP all of a sudden went closer to Tahir-ul-Qadri recently, and also participated in All Parties Conference (APC) organized by PAT in Lahore on December 30, aimed at bringing responsibles for Model Town tragedy to justice.

Senator Aitzaz Ahsan also said PPP would win next general elections under the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Earlier in the day, the Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah said in Sukkur that PPP was along with Tahir-ul-Qadri in Model Town incident. He said PPP had only one stance in Model Town incident that justice must be given to affectees of the tragic incident.

Syed Khursheed Shah said no undemocratic work could be done in the presence of PPP. He also said load-shedding was still continuing across the Country.
