ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has termed the unconfirmed and unverified statement attributed to the former Principal Secretary to PM Azam Khan, who has been missing for the past one month, is a collection of contradictions and a part of the same malicious scheme to keep the PTI Chairman Imran Khan out from political arena come what may.

In a strong reaction to the unformed statement circulating on media channels, the PTI Spokesperson said that the veracity of Azam Khan’s statement was yet to be ascertained but it was irrefutable fact that he had been missing since June 17.

The PTI Spokesperson stated that a formal case had been registered for Azam Khan’s disappearance and the Islamabad police was still unable to trace his whereabouts.

The PTI Spokesperson went on to say that recording statement of 164 by a missing person in front of the magistrate was unimaginable in the eyes of legal experts, adding that disclosing the contents of 164 statement of a missing person was a separate crime of its own nature.

The Spokesperson stated that Azam Khan’s alleged statement seemed to be a part of scheme like the detained leaders were either recover from the ranks of “Isthakam” or “Parliamentarians” or from press clubs.

In addition, he said that the Chairman Imran Khan categorically told the nation about the real motives behind the ongoing forced disappearances and illegal arrests in the Ccountry and said that efforts were being made to prepare approvers through force and coercion to expel him from political arena.

The PTI Spokesperson expressed alarming that the release of the ‘script’ to media in such a haste and frustration was disastrous for the state’s position on the cipher.

Furthermore, he stated that the National Security Committee (NSC) confirmed the contents of the cipher in its meetings chaired by two different Prime Ministers Imran Khan and Shahbaz Sharif.

The PTI leader said that in both of the meetings, the entire civil and military leadership unanimously called the cipher “blatant interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan”.

The PTI Spokesperson stated that on the basis of the cipher, America was demarched in Islamabad and Washington, adding that a special Cabinet meeting before the National Security Committee meeting reviewed the cipher and declassified it.

Further, he said continued that both the Speaker National Assembly and the President recommended the Chief Justice of Pakistan to carry out a comprehensive and effective probe into the cipher issue.

The PTI Spokesperson said that PTI Chairman, first as prime minister and then as the head of the country’s largest political party demanded a high-level investigation into Cipher.

The Spokesperson asked as to why PEMRA, the facilitator in the killing of freedom of expression in the Country, kept a criminal silence over the displaying and promoting unverified information on the national media.

The PTI Spokesperson stated that the federal government should tell the truth to the Court and the nation pertaining to Azam Khan instead of running factories of rumors and false statements. He demanded that the nation should be informed about his whereabouts, the case in which case he was arrested and about his recorded statement.

Additionally, he said that jokers of Jati Umra should not hide and come to face the nation in open and answer some serious questions. He stated that every lies-based statue carved by these crooks with great efforts and struggles was being smashed by the nation with one strike instantly.
