PoliticsPTI prepares plea for live broadcasting Court proceedings against Sharif family

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has prepared a plea, seeking live broadcast of proceedings underway in an Accountability Court in Islamabad related to Avenfield reference involving the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

In a statement on Wednesday, the PTI Central Secretary Information Fawad Chaudhry said Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz had demanded live broadcast of Court proceedings against them; however, the PTI knew it was just a political gimmick.

Fawad Chaudhry said both the father and his daughter never wanted that truth be unveiled to the masses. He said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz knew that if Court proceedings were aired live on Television Channels, it would become difficult for them to keep on lying any longer.

The PTI Central Secretary Information said they were giving a last chance to Nawaz Sharif and his daughter that latter filed an application in the Court for live telecast of their trial in NAB references. He said if both the accused didn’t filed an application within a week, the PTI would approach the Court for the said purpose.

Earlier this month, both Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz called for live broadcast of Accountability Court proceedings against Sharif family while the former prime minister also said that he would hold consultation with his lawyer on the matter.
