ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Official Social Media Team (SMT) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared complete detachment from “Farhan Khan Virk“, the main character behind an unethical, shameful and immoral campaign on social media against the former Finance Minister Asad Umar.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Head of PTI Social Media Team Department Muhammad Kamran said that PTI Official Social Media Team has no connection with Farhan Virk, and added that media should refrain from presenting unofficial and unauthorized individuals as the PTI Official SMT
“The character Farhan Virk is running an unofficial group on social media,” he clarified, stating that PTI Official SMT had already disassociated itself from Farhan Virk in 2015.

Muhammad Kamran stated that it is really condemnable to present this unofficial individual as representative of the PTI Official SMT on electronic media.
The PTI Official Social media Team, he said, comprises of hundreds of selfless volunteers and workers and these devoted and dedicated workers of Official SMT play an important role in building official narrative of PTI in an ethical way.
Kamran said that every member of the PTI SMT is bound to obey the official code of conduct. He went on adding that the official SMT always depict tolerance and patience rather than to be the part of any agitation
“An unauthorized group of some individuals promote intolerant behaviour after giving a false impression of its association with the PTI SMT,” he marked.
Muhammad Kamran categorically mentioned that the only PTI Official Social Media Team is responsible and accountable for disseminating authorized information related to party. “We accept responsibility of all the content published on Official Accounts of PTI,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that if any member of the PTI Official Social Media Team is found involved in any hate or outrageous campaign, we will take strict action against him
“We express complete detachment from the agitated campaign launched by unauthorized individuals,” he reiterated concluding the statement.
