ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has nominated the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Food Security Jamshed Iqbal Cheema to contest the by-election in NA-133 Lahore-XI.
The NA-133 Lahore-XI Constituency Seat fell vacant after the death of senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohammad Pervaiz Malik passed away in Lahore on October 11 at the age of 73.
In a Twitter statement on Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill said that Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over the meeting of the PTI Parliamentary Board Lahore.
Dr. Shahbaz Gill said that the Parliamentary Board unanimously nominated Jamshed Iqbal Cheema as the PTI’s Candidate in the NA-133 by-election.
Cheema thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for reposing trust in him by awarding the ticket to him to contest the NA-133 by-poll.

The PML-N’s late Pervaiz Malik had won the 2018 general election from the Constituency against the PTI’s Central Punjab President Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhary.
Pervaiz Malik had received 89,678 votes while Ejaz Chaudhary had bagged 77,231 votes in 2018 polls.
