ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Following the footstep of recently incarcerated and then released Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders, the former Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry has also announced to leave Imran Khan.

Ref. My earlier statement where I unequivocally condemned 9th May incidents, I have decided to take a break from politics, therefore, I have resigned from party position and parting ways from Imran Khan,” Fawad Chaudhry wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

Fawad Chaudhry was released from custody on the orders of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 16. He had left the Court at midnight and said he condemned the events of May 9.

Sources said that Fawad met Faisal Vawda before making the decision. He reportedly remarked to Vawda that he had ‘lost taste’ for politics.

Fawad Chaudhry is the latest to leave the party among a number of PTI leaders including Dr. Shireen Mazari, Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi, Amir Kayani, Jai Prakash, Aftab Siddiqui, and Sanjay Gangwani
