ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretary General Arshad Dad has told the EU’s Election Observation Mission that PTI is committed to an inclusive, responsive and transparent election system in Pakistan.

“PTI believes in having free, fair and transparent election,” Arshad Dad said while talking to a European delegation which led by the Chief Election Observer Michael Gahler visited the PTI Central Secretariat in Islamabad on Friday and met him.

The European Union Ambassador to Pakistan Jean Francois Cautain was also present in the meeting.

The EU delegation congratulated PTI leadership over party’s victory in the parliamentary elections 2018. The discussion covered a wide range of topics including the recent elections and the matters regarding the transition of power post elections.

Speaking at the occasion, the PTI secretary general stated that PTI acknowledges EU’s efforts for transparency in elections.

“We look forward to benefit from findings of EU Elections Observation Mission,” he said adding that PTI is the only party that is working exclusively on its internal structures to make itself a real democratic institution.

Arshad Dad further said that we acknowledge significance of the EU Observer Mission’s findings on general election 2013 and ready to take full advantage of the work done by EU Observers to bring in improvements to the electoral system.

The EU delegation acknowledged PTI’s resolve for transparency in the system of elections, and urged PTI leadership to take the agenda of reforms to the next level.
