ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Unknown men attacked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan with a blade in Islamabad on Tuesday, leaving him injured.

The incident took place outside the GNN News Office in Islamabad wherein a group of transgenders attacked Raoof Hasan.

A video shared on the social media site X showed that the attackers also subjected the PTI leader to brutal torture.

“Very shameful and reprehensible!!” the party wrote on X showing a video footage of Raoof Hasan bleeding from the right cheek of his face.

In another post, the party said that “The attack on Central Information PTI Secretary Rauf Hasan outside the office of a private channel is highly condemnable. This reprehensible act of violence is an assault on free speech, democracy, and the rule of law.”

“Such shameful tactics will not deter Rauf Hasan or the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party from our cause. Attempts to intimidate or silence us will only strengthen our resolve to fight for a just and equitable society.”PTI Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan attacked in Islamabad

Later, Raoof was taken to the PAF Hospital for media treatment, wherein the PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also visited to inquire about his health.

The anchorperson Fareeha Idrees on X that She “Spoke to the staff that tended Raoof Hasan at PAF minor OT. They said he has injury on his head and cheek. They have stitched the wound. They had to be cautious since he is a cancer survivor .Mr Hasan is 74 years old and blood tests will be done to determine blood loss estimate”.
