PTI-backed successful candidates forced to join PML-N, IPP & PPP

PoliticsPTI-backed successful candidates forced to join PML-N, IPP & PPP

Around a dozen successful candidates – who won the recent elections with backing of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) – have so far been forced to join Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), another big blow to the embattled party who though clinched an astonishing victory in February 8 polls but massively manipulated elections results and having been deprived of its bat symbol, it yet practically ended up on a losing side.

So far 5 members elect of the National Assembly and 16 members elect of the Punjab Assembly have announced to join PML-N while 4 members elect have joined IPP. Out of them, 1 MNA elect and 13 MPA elect, who won the elections with PTI Certificates, have now altered their allegiance to rival parties.

Majority of these PTI defectors had recorded video messages prior to the elections taking oath that they would remain loyal to the PTI Lifetime Chairman Imran Khan, no matter what consequences they would have to face. But now after an immense pressurize was allegedly exerted on them, forcing them to join PML-N, IPP or PPP, they have disrespected the people’s mandate.

Reportedly, so far Wasim Qadir from NA-121, Syed Muhammad Hassan Nawaz from PP-94, Ali Asghar Gurmani from PP-283, Sardar Ahmad Ali Khan Dhreshak from PP-289, and Shazia Hayat from PP-225 are some of PTI-backed successful candidates who have been pushed to align their political future with PML-N.

Likewise, Sardar Muhammad Awais Dareshak from PP-296, Muhammad Zahid Ismael Bhutta from PP-270 (IPP), and Muhammad Tahir Qaisrani from PP-284 have now joined IPP after meeting with its President Abdul Aleem Khan.

Not only PML-N and IPP, PPP also took its part in ruining the very spirit of democracy and humiliating people’s mandate, and switched PTI-backed Aijaz Khan Sawati’s loyalties to themselves in PS-88.

Another PTI-backed MPA elect Amir Muhammad Khan from PP-89 Bhakkar has also joined PPP after meetings its Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Additionally, PTI candidates Muhammad Mobeen Arif who defeated PML-N’s Khurram Dastgir Khan in NA-78 Gujranwala with a margin of 17,000 votes and Ihsan Ullah Virk who sealed a win from NA-79 by receiving 104,023 votes are allegedly been pressurized to join PML-N and their business have reportedly been sealed as well.

From PP-165 under whose jurisdiction Sharif family’s Jati Umrah residence falls, PTI’s Ahmer Rasheed Bhatti, who defeated PML-N’s Shahzad Nazeer in February 8 elections, has been arrested as a pressure tactic to force him to join PML-N.

Another such incident took place in PP-7 wherein PTI-backed successful candidate Muhammad Shabbir Awan was asked to join PML-N but upon his refusal, highly controversial recounting was conducted and his 6,000 votes lead against PML-N’s Raja Sagheer Ahmed was converted into a defeat by 2,500 votes.
