PoliticsPPP, PML-N's alliance to be short-lived: Sheikh Rasheed

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Monday said the alliance of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would not go long.

Talking to media representatives outside the Parliament House in Islamabad, Sheikh Rasheed said Syed Khursheed Shah was a sane politician.

The AML Chief said they would offer their hand for friendship to all the opposition parties.

Sheikh Rasheed said he had no desire for any ministry, adding in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) government, his voice would be for the poor.

Earlier Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed along with other newly elected Parliamentarians took the Oath in the 15th National Assembly.

The AML Chief said those who had said he couldn’t make it to the Parliament themselves failed to reach the Legislature.

In reply to a question, Sheikh Rasheed said he would like to felicitate the President of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) Fazlur Rehman as well on the occasion of 14th August.

“Allah has granted us a stable and a secured Pakistan today,” he said.
