LAHORE, Pakistan: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has denied remarks attributed to President Asif Ali Zardari by the media about the incumbent government led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Earlier media reported that while listening to the grievances of party’s workers, the Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari accused the PML-N of failing to manage the government effectively.
“We know how to form and dismantle governments,” Zardari said as reported by the media, and also promising that the PPP would take the decisive action.
However, in a statement issued on Thursday evening, the PPP’s Central Punjab Information Secretary Shahzad Saeed Cheema said that there was no discussion regarding the government in the meeting held at Bilawal House in Lahore.
Shahzad Saeed Cheema said that President Asif Ali Zardari did not say anything regarding the formation and overthrow of the government.
The PPP’s Central Punjab Information Secretary said that his party is supporting the government on all national issues and will continue to do so.
Cheema said that media should keep facts in mind while releasing any news. He also said that in the name of inside story, unconfirmed news should be avoided.
Furthermore, he said that the Country cannot afford irresponsible journalism at this time.
