PoliticsPoliticians don’t need clean chit from judiciary: Captain (red) Safdar

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and lawmaker in the National Assembly Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar on Tuesday said politicians did not need clean chit from judiciary, adding the Supreme Court’s verdict announced on July 28 became a joke in the entire world.

Talking to media representatives in Islamabad, Captain Safdar said the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was appearing before the Courts despite having serious reservations, and hoped that he would again win in 2018 general elections.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa will give a briefing to the Senate Committee of the Whole over national security issues today.

Captain (retd) Safdar, who is also the Son-in-Law of Nawaz Sharif, said Senate would be briefed about national security today. He said Senate and National Assembly should be briefed about national security after every three or four months.

Earlier, Nawaz Sharif along with his daughter Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar appeared before the Accountability Court judge Muhammad Bashir in Islamabad in connection with National Accountability Bureau (NAB) references prepared under the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan as part of Panama Papers Case.
